Resolving the symptoms of Depression with Changing Limited Beliefs.

Helping you break out of that powerless feeling and live the life you deserve.

In my Bromham practice I see many people each week who are suffering with the symptoms of Depression. If you are depressed, you may feel that nothing can help you. But this is not true and actually deciding to do something is the most important step and the biggest step that you can take. Most people do recover from bouts of depression, even from symptoms that they have experienced over a very long term.

Depression resolved with HypnotherapyWe often use the expression "I'm feeling depressed" when we're feeling sad or miserable about life - its easy to say it very lightly not actually understanding what Depression is. and in most circumstances these feelings eventually pass. But if the feelings are interfering with your life and don't go away after a couple of weeks, or if they come back, over and over again, for a few days at a time, it could be a sign that you're depressed in the medical sense of the term. In its mildest form, depression can mean just being in low spirits - it doesn’t stop you leading your normal life, but makes everything harder to do and seem less worthwhile. At its most severe, major depression (clinical depression) can be life-threatening, so it should never be under-estimated.

There are different types of depression but a few of the most common are highlighted below:

Seasonal affective disorder (SAD) - If you usually become depressed only during the autumn and winter

Postnatal depression - Many mothers have ‘the baby blues’ soon after the birth of their baby but postnatal depression is a more serious problem that can appear any time between two weeks and two years after the birth.

Bipolar disorder (manic depression) - Some people have significant mood swings.

At least one person in every six becomes depressed in the course of their lives. The number of people living with depression in England has increased by nearly half a million in three years, according to an analysis of NHS data. The total number for 2010-11 stood at 4.7 million people. One in 20 is clinically depressed. Figures suggest that it is women more than men who become depressed, but men may find it harder to admit to or talk about their experience.

All age groups can be affected, and it’s important to take symptoms seriously and not to dismiss them as an inevitable part of growing up or growing old. By recognising and treating the symptoms and getting help, it’s possible to overcome depression, and prevent it coming back. Past experiences can have a profound effect on how we feel about ourselves in the present, and if those feelings are very negative, they can be the start of a downward spiral. In many cases, the first time someone becomes depressed, it's triggered by an unwelcome or traumatic event.

How Changing Limited Beliefs (Thrive) Can Help

Symptoms of depression can usually be assisted using the Changing Limited Beliefs programme in between 4-6 sessions on average. Changing Limited Beliefs does not use any form of hypnosis or hypnotherapy it is effective by getting you to retrain your brain to think differently about your symptoms and to get minimise and in some cases get rid of them completely.

In the Changing Limited Beliefs sessions we will look at your belief systems ( most sufferers have Low Self Esteem and Social Phobia), we look at your Personality Type and how that influences your symptoms - you probably brood about them, we discuss the different types of Anxiety you suffer ( most sufferers worry about things even before they have happened), we look at the way your mind and your imagination play havoc with your feelings and symptoms and how you make them worse yourself without even realising it, we discuss how much responsibility you actually take in your life ( how you choose to let things affect you either positively or negatively), and then I teach you how to change that around so that you manage your thinking and your symptoms differently. The results can be amazing and in such a short time.

The next Step?

Quite often you have had depression for so long that its been normalised - "I have had it years, its just me and the way I am and nothing can help". But YOU can have a HUGE effect on your depression and make it better by managing your thinking differently. Just because you may have always suffered with these symptoms or experienced them for years does not mean you have to continue suffering with them at the same level or at all in some cases. Please give me a call or send me an email as I CAN HELP YOU to resolve or improve things so that you can live the better life that you deserve to live.

You dont need to suffer in silence... by managing your thinking I can show you how to put YOURSELF back in control.
